International Women’s Day (IWD) 2023
Girls In Technology Liberia celebrated the International Women’s Day with Ministry of Gender, UN Women, and many other Organizations on March 3rd, 2023.
- Global Theme: “Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”
- National Theme: “Innovating with Technology to Promote Gender Equality.”
The International Women’s Day (IWD) is a day remembering the challenges that women have overcome and the achievements they have made throughout history.
IWD also serves as a call to action to speed up the process of gender equality.
Girls In Technology Liberia and other women paraded from Boulevard Junction, Congo Town, to the EJS Ministerial Building at 8:00AM to honor the IWD.
There was a networking session and an indoor program held at the EJS Ministerial Complex Theatre, 11:00AM. Moreover, the event included free screenings for breast cancer, diabetes, eye exams, blood pressure, and HIV/AIDS.
